BPA Banned…Now What?
Bisphenol A, a chemical commonly used in hard plastic, is now classified as a toxic substance. BPA is often used in plastic containers, reusable water bottles, baby bottles and toys, and mimics the hormone estrogen. The chemical was found in the urine of 91% of Canadians aged 6-79, according to figures released by Statistics Canada in August. For more information on BPA, please click here to view the fact sheet.
